HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has arrested a former detention deputy from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on charges related to child pornography.

Detectives from HCSO’s Internet Predator Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Lutz on July 1, 2024, following a tip-off from the PCSO regarding the arrest of Trevor Willis, 33, a PCSO Detention Deputy.

Willis was initially arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office on July 1, 2024, on multiple child pornography charges. Following his arrest, he resigned from his position.

During their investigation, HCSO detectives discovered additional pornographic material linked to Willis on a social media application. Consequently, Willis was arrested without incident on July 17, 2024. He is now facing nine counts of possession of child pornography.

“These vile actions have no place in our community, and the betrayal of trust by someone who swore to protect and serve is deeply disturbing,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “However, I am immensely proud of the collaboration among all the detectives involved. Their thorough investigation and teamwork have brought this criminal to justice, showing the integrity and commitment we uphold in serving our community.”

The investigation highlights the dedication of law enforcement agencies in working together to ensure justice and uphold the safety and trust of the community.
