A voter who previously voted for President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he cast his vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump because he felt “deceived” by the current administration.

The voter, who was located in Surprise, Arizona, said he has been “disappointed” with the policies of the Biden-Harris administration that he argued hurt the economy. He blamed the Biden administration’s economic policies for losing his job in the mortgage industry and struggling economically.

“I’ve just been seeing what’s been happening in the past four years, I voted Democrat in the past four years and I’m really disappointed in the administration, how everything has been going,” he said. “I was in the mortgage industry for quite some time and that hurt us pretty bad. I lost my job because of it, dealing with the recession and everything. And I know everyone is saying we’re looking for solutions for every party, right, but the solutions that they came up with were no solutions … [the economy] impacts every one of us.”

The voter further told CNN senior national correspondent Ed Lavandera that he is “a walking example” of how voters change their mind after suffering the consequences of an administration’s policies, further adding that people vote in order to benefit their own lives.

“I was deceived, but I am a walking example of how people can change their mind, you just go with the evidence of what benefits you, who benefits you and your family. So, Biden hasn’t been beneficial to my family, obviously,” the voter said.

Trump has consistently led on the issue of the economy in polling conducted throughout the race. The former president held a 54% to 45% advantage on the economy in a Gallup poll released Oct. 9, while a CNBC poll conducted between Oct. 15-19 found Trump holding an 18-point lead on the economy.
