Former Alabama Correctional Officer Sentenced For Drug Smuggling

Henry Guice, Jr., 46, of Montgomery, Alabama, was sentenced to 75 months in prison on September 9, 2024, for his involvement in a conspiracy to smuggle drugs into a prison.

Guice, a former correctional officer with the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), was caught with methamphetamine during a routine vehicle search at Staton Correctional Facility in June 2023.

During his plea hearing, Guice admitted to possessing the drugs with the intent to distribute them and conspiring with another individual, Brad Elliot Gordon, who was an inmate at Staton at the time. Gordon’s trial is set for February 2025.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the ADOC Law Enforcement Services Division and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark E. Andreu.
