For $6K+ University Of North Carolina Charlotte Students Can Obtain An ‘Anti-Racism’ Certificate

It appears Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DeAngelo are not the only ones with a gift for turning “anti-racism” into a lucrative grift.

The University of North Carolina-Charlotte has picked up on the idea.

According to the conservative website Campus Reform, UNCC is now offering a graduate-level certificate in “anti-racism.”

Obtaining the certificate involves taking four classes, all of which are offered only online: History and Psychology of Racism; Racial Identity Development; Race in Education and Schooling; Anti-Racist Activism in Education.

Total cost for in-state students, $6,256; if you’re outside North Carolina, the certificate will run you $12,321.

UNCC’s website says the program is aimed at “addressing race and racism in professional or organizational spaces.”

The certificate “caters to individuals interested in an advanced degree that provides an understanding of education in urban environments with a focus on race, racism, and anti-racism,” the website adds.

And the program is “appropriate for educators in public and private settings, administrators in non-profit settings, counselors, religious/spiritual entities, local, regional and state government employees, and others interesting topics of equity.”

“The certificate,” the website adds, “will demonstrate that students have completed coursework enabling them to become justice-oriented change agents in the organizations in which they work.”

In other words, it’s a license to become a pain in the neck to your co-workers.

The program “outcomes” are twofold, the school says:

“Candidates are able to use appropriate research and theory to identify and analyze anti-racist movements through a historical and cultural context,” and they “are able to develop a plan of action to effectively address racism in local contexts.”

UNCC might be ahead of the game.

After all, it’s easy to envision that employers, especially public ones like schools and government agencies, will in due time require job-seekers to have completed such classes as a requirement for employment.
