PALM HARBOR, Fla. – A southbound food service tractor-trailer struck low-hanging cables strung across US-19, south of Tampa Road, early Tuesday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6:27 a.m. Tuesday and the driver initially stopped but left the incident scene, and was last seen traveling northbound on US-19. 

The collision closed all southbound lanes of US-19 until the arrival of Duke Energy. 

All lanes were reopened at 8:00 AM, troopers say.
