Florida drivers enrolled in the state’s Toll Relief Program have saved nearly $247 million in its first six months, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The program, which launched in April, provides a 50% credit to SunPass accounts with at least 35 toll transactions per month.
“Florida commuters have saved nearly one-quarter of a billion dollars thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis’ Toll Relief Program,” said FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “Florida families and small businesses are seeing extra savings at the end of each month, and we look forward to continue the savings through next year.”
The program is designed to ease the financial burden of frequent commuting and boost the economic well-being of Floridians. With SunPass users already saving an average of 25% on tolls, the Toll Relief Program provides an additional opportunity for savings.
Building on the success of a similar program in 2022, Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature extended the Toll Relief Program through March 2025. Last year’s program provided approximately $470 million in credits, benefiting 1.2 million Floridians with an average savings of nearly $400 per person.
To participate, SunPass customers should ensure their transponders are properly installed and their accounts are in good standing. The program is a collaborative effort between Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and other tolling agencies throughout the state.
