Syalon Britten, 46, of Ocoee, is celebrating a significant windfall after winning a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game.

The Florida Lottery announced Friday that Britten claimed her prize at the Orlando District Office, opting for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

Britten purchased the winning $50 scratch-off ticket at Discount Beverages & Smoke, located at 207 US Highway 441/27 in Lady Lake. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR game offers two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game boasts over $1.6 billion in total cash prizes, with overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.50.

Scratch-off games play a vital role in the Florida Lottery’s portfolio, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Since its inception, the Florida Lottery’s scratch-off games have awarded over $65.5 billion in prizes, created 2,283 millionaires, and contributed more than $19.80 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
