Florida Woman With Four DUIs And No License, Arrested For Two DUI Crashes In One Day

A 62-year-old Florida woman was arrested Thursday after hitting two cars on U.S. 1 and leaving the scene after both crashes, and one could argue that she has a drinking problem.

Debra Sue Bond, 62, Summerland Key, was charged with DUI, hit-and-run, careless driving, failure to report a crash, driving with a revoked license, and multiple other infractions.

The case began at approximately 4 p.m. when a woman reported a Lexus SUV tried to pass her vehicle on the right and left before rear-ending the victim’s vehicle near Mile Marker 21.5 in the Keys.

A short time later, another rear-end, hit-and-run was reported near Mile Marker 17. That victim also described a Lexus SUV as the suspect vehicle.

The Lexus was stopped near Mile Marker 10. Bond was identified as the driver.

Deputies say that Bond’s driver’s license was permanently revoked after four previous DUIs, including a DUI that caused injury and property damage.

Bond was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a $175,000 bond.
