The Florida woman who was caught on camera attacking Uber Driver Michael Hassey, 23, pleaded guilty earlier this week in court.
Michele Stilwell, 55, pleaded guilty to battery and disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 18 months probation, an $850 fine, a mental health evaluation, and must have no contact with the victim.
In April, Stilwell launched an unprovoked attack on Hassey while he was driving near her home in St. Pete.
According to deputies, Stilwell “reached forward and proceeded to choke the victim from behind,” then eventually biting Hassey on the neck.
Deputies say that Hassey was attempting to call 911 during the attack, but was unable to as Hassey continued, “to bite, scratch, and strangle him by the throat.”
Witnesses who saw the attack notified police and pulled Stilwell off Hassey, separating the two until deputies arrived.
The witnesses were able to take photos and record parts of the attack on video.
