A Florida woman is suing Chick-fil-A after eating a black chicken nugget in January 2020, that allegedly made her violently ill, according to a lawsuit filed.
According to the lawsuit, Shi’terra Sharp went to the Chick-fil-A located at 13143 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, Florida, in Hernando County.
The lawsuit says she went back to her home in Orlando, Orange County, after purchasing chicken nuggets from the Hernando County restaurant and started eating them when she realized the meat was “black in color,” according to court documents.
Sharp “became violently ill, was nauseated, vomited until (she) had no strength left to do so, suffered from cramping, nausea, and diarrhea, and sustained great injury to her mouth, throat, stomach, and digestive system” following her consumption of them, according to the lawsuit.

Sharp claims that she was later admitted to a hospital, where a gastrointestinal condition was discovered.
She alleges the company, Holland Hospitality, LLC, which operates the location, breached its duty by negligently failing to adequately inspect and ensure its food was fit for human consumption before selling it.
According to the lawsuit, Sharp is suing the defendant in Orange County for damages exceeding $50,000 because of her illness.
“These losses are either permanent or continuing in nature, and the plaintiff will suffer said losses in the future, to wit, permanently,” the lawsuit states.
