A Florida woman claimed a $1,000,000 prize from a lottery-scratch-off ticket that she nearly threw away.
According to the Florida Lottery, Jill Rowell of Grand Ridge almost threw her winning ticket in the trash when a bystander said she should take a second look.
“I scanned the ticket at the machine, and you could say it was definitely a ‘spectacular’ surprise! I drove straight here, and yes, I want a picture.” In the midst of shock and laughter, Rowell shared with lottery officials that she was actually about to throw her Scratch-Off in the trash when an onlooker suggested she take a second look at her ticket.
