Florida Woman Lifted The Seat To Find An Iguana Taking A Dip In The Toilet

A Florida woman was surprised by an unwelcomed guest in her toilet Saturday night. A Mexican spiny tail iguana.

WSVN reported that when Michelle Reynolds went to the bathroom, she “did a quick turnaround.”

“I came down last night at 10:30 to make my little treat, as I normally do, and I put it in the microwave and skipped on over to the bathroom and opened the door and did a quick turnaround, ’cause I saw this thing in there, quickly shut the door,” she said.

The reptile was unable to find its own way out of the toilet so Reynolds had to call for help, Harold Rondon of Iguana Lifestyles, a wildlife removal service.

Rondon said he had removed several iguanas from south Florida properties this year.

The specimen in Reynolds’ toilet, he said, was a Mexican spiny tail iguana. Males can get up to 18 inches, with tails that can also grow up to 18 inches, Rondon said.

The iguana “took up most of the toilet bowl”, Reynolds added.

Reynolds said she suspects the iguana might have gotten in through a vent or the sewer.
