CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Alyssa Avery, 32, Green Cove Springs, was sentenced Wednesday to six years in federal prison for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine base, and cocaine.
Avery entered a guilty plea on October 19, 2023.
According to court documents, on January 30, 2023, deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) observed Avery driving in a rental vehicle in Green Cove Springs.

When deputies learned Avery did not have a valid driver’s license, they initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, a CCSO canine alerted the detectives to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and found over 20 grams of fentanyl in 17 individual sealed baggies, 60 grams of pure crystal methamphetamine, over 13 grams of cocaine, and over 16 grams of cocaine base.
Deputies also recovered a digital scale. Detectives learned Avery had been released from the Florida Department of Corrections the month prior for trafficking methamphetamine.
