A lucky Florida woman turned a $20 scratch-off ticket into a life-changing $1 million prize, the Florida Lottery announced.
Judith Carter, 57, of West Palm Beach, claimed her winnings from the GOLD RUSH LEGACY game at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. She opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000.
Carter purchased her winning ticket at a Publix supermarket on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. The store received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky scratch-off.

The GOLD RUSH LEGACY game offers players the chance to win big, with four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million. Overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.97.
