Florida Woman Charged After Cops In South Carolina Find ‘Trap’ With 6 Pounds Of Cocaine

A routine traffic stop for speeding in Florence County, South Carolina, led to a significant drug bust and the arrest of a Florida woman.

Carmen Denisse Garcia Roman, of Orlando, Florida, was charged with cocaine trafficking after deputies discovered a hidden compartment in her vehicle containing three kilograms of cocaine.

On July 3rd, deputies pulled over Roman for speeding on Interstate 95. During the stop, deputies developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and conducted a consensual search of the vehicle.

The search revealed an aftermarket compartment, known as a “trap,” often used to conceal illegal drugs.

The compartment contained approximately 6.6 pounds of cocaine, estimated to be worth nearly half a million dollars. Roman was arrested and is now facing felony drug trafficking charges.

Carmen Denisse Garcia Roman was charged with Trafficking Cocaine. Roman will be held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
