Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey has detailed the arrest of a Florida woman who was taken into custody for the second time in just over a week—this time with a sense of irony that even law enforcement found hard to believe.
On January 6, Teryn Acri was arrested by Deputy Justin Shannon after a traffic stop where she was found in possession of trafficking amounts of methamphetamine. Acri was charged with trafficking in meth, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Initially held without bond, she was later released on January 8 after posting a $15,500 bond, which Sheriff Ivey criticized as “ridiculously low.”

However, just ten days later, Acri found herself back behind bars following another traffic stop—this time by Deputy Lexi Gordon and K9 partner Aurora. As the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle, they discovered Acri’s belongings, including a bag emblazoned with the words: “Definitely Not A Bag Full Of Drugs.”
Unfortunately for Acri, the label was not a joke. Inside the bag, authorities found methamphetamine, needles, Narcan, digital scales, small baggies, cut straws, and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Sheriff Ivey, known for his no-nonsense approach to crime, expressed his frustration over the repeat offense.
“You just can’t make this stuff up,” said Ivey. “She was arrested for drug trafficking, bonded out, and now, just ten days later, here we are again. This is absolute insanity that we just keep letting these criminals out of jail on ridiculous bonds so they can break more laws!”
Acri is now back at what Sheriff Ivey calls “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” and is once again being held without bond. However, Ivey warned that another low bond could allow her to return to the streets soon.
“We have zero tolerance for crime in Brevard County, especially when it comes to people putting poison on our streets,” Ivey stated.
Despite the Sheriff’s frustration, he reassured residents that his department remains committed to holding repeat offenders accountable and keeping the community safe.
Acri faces multiple drug-related charges and will remain in custody pending her next court appearance.
