Florida Woman Arrested After Throwing Boyfriend’s Dog Off Seventh Floor Balcony

Shelley Nicole Vaughn (DOB 8-15-1975) of Clearwater was arrested this afternoon and will  be booked in to the Pinellas County Jail later today. She is also being charged with criminal mischief and domestic battery.

A Florida woman has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty and two other counts following a domestic dispute led her to throw a 3-year-old pug named Bucky off a condominium balcony.

According to police, Shelley Nicole Vaughn, 46, of Clearwater was arrested this afternoon and will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail later today. She is also being charged with criminal mischief and domestic battery.

Police were called to 880 Mandalay Ave. shortly before noon on Sunday after Eric Adeson, who has been dating the suspect for several months, said Vaughn threw his 3-year-old pug, Bucky, off his seventh-floor balcony during an argument.

Police say the woman also tossed his cell phone and keys off the balcony and struck him.

The dog was found dead on the pavement below

.Efforts to locate Vaughn, who lives in the same condominium complex as the victim, were unsuccessful on Sunday. Police located her this afternoon and placed her under arrest.
