Florida residents must register to vote or update their party affiliations by Monday to participate in the upcoming Aug. 20 primary elections.

These primaries will feature partisan contests, including the race for Republican Rick Scott’s U.S. Senate seat, as well as nonpartisan races across various districts in the state.

Mark Earley, Supervisor of Elections for Leon County, emphasized the significance of the primary, noting that several critical races will be decided.

He cautioned against waiting until November, as voters would miss the opportunity to cast ballots in local contests such as city commission, county commission, and school board elections.

According to data as of June 30, Florida had more than 13.43 million registered voters.
