An Uber driver in Florida found himself in the middle of a real-life thriller when his passenger, 33-year-old Carlos Agustin Flores, revealed a fiery plan for revenge. Apparently, a friend of Flores had borrowed $100 at a strip club a few nights prior and, despite claiming to have repaid the debt, Flores was convinced otherwise. His solution? Burn down his friend’s house, of course!
The Uber driver, likely reconsidering his career choices, listened in disbelief as Flores detailed his plan, complete with a detergent bottle full of gasoline and a lighter conveniently on hand. Sensing that this ride was about to take a very dark turn, the quick-thinking driver discreetly contacted the authorities, reporting his concerns about the potential arsonist he had just dropped off.

Martin County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Ed Brochu and his deputies arrived at the scene just in the nick of time. Flores was caught red-handed (and lighter-in-hand) about to ignite the gasoline he had poured around his friend’s trailer.
Deputies swiftly apprehended Flores, putting an end to his fiery revenge plot. A subsequent search revealed a knife concealed in his pocket, adding another layer to this already dramatic tale.

Flores was arrested and is now facing charges of arson, written threats to kill, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
It seems his attempt to settle a $100 debt has landed him in significantly hotter water. As for the Uber driver, he deserves a medal (and maybe a hefty tip) for his quick thinking and bravery. After all, not every ride-sharing experience involves preventing a potential inferno.
