TAMPA, Fla. – In a joint operation, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) successfully disrupted a dangerous street takeover event in Tampa last night, resulting in ten arrests and multiple charges.
The event, promoted on social media, attracted hundreds of spectators and numerous vehicles. Participants recklessly engaged in activities like donuts and drifting, blocking intersections and creating a significant public safety hazard.

Law enforcement seized three firearms, impounded four vehicles, and recovered over $6,000 in assets. Charges included unlawful racing, drug possession, fleeing to elude, and knowingly participating in a street takeover as a passenger.
Street takeovers pose a severe threat to public safety, obstructing traffic and potentially hindering emergency response. The FHP and HCSO remain committed to cracking down on such illegal activities to ensure the well-being of the community.

The individuals arrested were:
- Jakob Bryan, 20, Land O’Lakes, Florida Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover
- Jakiya Burr, 24, Lake Whales, Florida Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
- 17-year-old male juvenile, Wesley Chapel, Florida Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
- Jaewon Foster, 29, Haines City, Florida Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover, Possession of Cannabis, less than 20 grams
- Ethan Marton, 20, Holiday, Florida Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
- Marquis Pinkins, 29, Haines City, Florida Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover, Fleeing to Elude
- Alex Rodriguez-Lazu, 20, Lakeland, Florida Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover Fleeing to Elude
- Ramon Santiago, 20, Lakeland, Florida Knowingly Riding as a Passenger in Unlawful Racing or Street Takeover
- Jackson Tubbs,17, Tampa, Florida Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover Fleeing to Elude, Possession of Cannabis, less than 20 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Grant Watson, 18, Wesley Chapel, Florida, Unlawful Racing on Highway While Engaged in Coordinated Street Takeover
