A recent drug bust involving a teen in Martin County, Florida, has revealed a disturbing trend: MDMA (commonly known as “Molly”) disguised as children’s vitamins or candy.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Special Investigations Division arrested 18-year-old Ezekiel Garza of Port St. Lucie for the sale and possession of MDMA designed to look like brightly colored candy.
This discovery is particularly concerning as the suspect has ties to local high schools, raising alarms about the potential for these disguised drugs to fall into the hands of unsuspecting children.
Sheriff Budensiek warned parents of this concerning trend while urging them to “speak to children about drug use and the dangers of experimenting with any substance” that isn’t prescribed by a doctor.
Garza faces multiple drug charges and is currently being held at the Martin County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
