Florida Man Gucci Sandals

Florida Teen Arrested After Returning To Crime Scene To Get His Buddie’s Gucci Sandals

A Florida man in the making. After committing a home burglary, a 16-year-old Florida teen was arrested trying to retrieve his friend’s Gucci sandals.

While a homeowner was golfing behind his home on Sunday, he noticed two bikes on the backside of his house and window screen ripped out.

Deputies say the victim returned home to assess the situation.

When he arrived, he noticed his room was in disarray and the air conditioning unit was popped out. At this time, his golf partner saw two subjects wearing hoodies run out the front door.

The victim and his golf partner got into his truck and began following one suspect wearing a black hoodie and carrying a black bag down Morley Street. After turning onto Midway Boulevard they lost sight of him.

However, when the victim turned the vehicle around, he observed the other suspect wearing a navy hoodie running between his house and the neighbors.

Deputies say the suspect then hopped on a bicycle and took off through backlots.

While speaking with neighbors, they told deputies that one of the suspects approached him claiming to have been interrupted by the husband of someone he was having relations with and needed a ride out of the area.

The neighbor declined and the suspect jumped a 4-foot fence and again fled on a bicycle. The neighbor then contacted Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The first suspect returned and knocked on a neighbor’s door in an attempt to retrieve the second suspect’s Gucci sandals.

At that time, he was notified that the police were called. The juvenile then fled the area a second time.

In addition to deputies canvassing the area, K9 was called out, leading deputies to the suspect.

16-year-old Davion Lowery was located at the intersection of Alton Road and Sheehan Boulevard just blocks from where the crime occurred.

After interviewing Lowery, he was taken into custody and transported to the Charlotte County Jail on the following charges:

  • Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling Unarmed
  • Grand Theft Property Between $100 and $300 from Dwelling

Lowery recently moved to the area and is currently on probation for burglary out of Desoto County.

At this time, the second suspect involved in this crime has not been located.

“We ask the public to contact the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-0013 with any information,” said CCSO in a blog post.

It was determined that the juveniles were targeting several firearms that were inside the home. They escaped with ammunition and electronics that were later located in the black bag next to a trash can beside a home on Morley Street.

Anyone with information regarding this case, and who wishes to remain anonymous, and eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the free P3Tips mobile app.
