Florida State Tops University Of Florida In National Golf Program Rankings

Florida State University (FSU) has outperformed the University of Florida (UF) in a new nationwide ranking of NCAA Division I golf programs, according to a study conducted by luxury golf apparel brand Galvin Green.

The study analyzed 15 factors across all NCAA Division I colleges with golf programs, including team performance, academic excellence, and affordability, assigning each school an index score out of 100.

FSU secured the third spot in the rankings with an index score of 66.02, placing just ahead of UF, which ranked fourth with a score of 64.8. FSU’s men’s golf team is ranked fifth nationally, and its women’s team is in the top 20. The university also scored well for its affordable cost after aid.

UF’s men’s and women’s golf teams both rank in the top 20 nationally, and the university holds the top nationwide ranking for average cost after aid.

Auburn University, Alabama, topped the list with an index score of 66.12, boasting the number one ranked men’s golf team and the seventh-ranked women’s team. Stanford University, California, came in second with a score of 66.1, with its women’s golf team ranked first nationally.

“With the best student-athlete golfers having the opportunity to progress their golfing careers and earn money in the process, it’s fascinating to see Florida State and the University of Florida both offering incredible possibilities both in terms of academic tuition and sporting advancement,” said a spokesperson for Galvin Green.

The study highlighted the importance of balancing athletic success with academic support and affordability. Other top-ranked universities included Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Arizona State University, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Texas A&M University.

The rankings provide valuable insights for aspiring student-athlete golfers seeking institutions that offer both strong golf programs and comprehensive academic opportunities.
