Missing 76-Year-Old Woman From Brooksville Found Deceased By Hunter In Levy County

Missing Hernando County Woman

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Joan Kaloustian, 76, who was last seen by family members on July 17, 2022, was found deceased by a hunter in Levy County, according to deputies.

Levy County deputies responded to a heavily wooded area west of U.S.-19, after receiving a call from an individual who had been hunting in the area.

“While hunting, the individual stumbled upon Mrs. Kaloustian, along with her van, on a muddy trail deep in the woods.  The van was stuck in the mud,” said HCSO.

Joan Kaloustian, 76, was last seen on July 17, 2022, at approximately 4 p.m., at her residence in the Highpoint subdivision in Brooksville.  At that time she was visiting with family members.

Deputies say Kaloustian remained at her residence when family members left to travel home.

At some point between that time and Tuesday evening, Kaloustian left her residence in her white Dodge Caravan.

The area where Mrs. Kaloustian was located is approximately 85 miles from her residence in Highpoint, and foul play is not suspected in this case.

“Please join us in keeping Mrs. Kaloustian’s family and friends in our thoughts and prayers,” said HCSO.
