In response to the Biden-Harris administration’s controversial decision in May to allow representatives of Cuba’s communist regime, a designated state sponsor of terrorism, to tour the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) facilities at Miami International Airport, Senator Rick Scott has introduced the Stopping Adversaries From Exploring (SAFE) U.S. Facilities Act.

This legislation seeks to restrict federal funding for events involving officials from foreign entities deemed adversarial to the United States, including Communist China, Russia, Cuba, Iran, and other state sponsors of terrorism. Senator Marco Rubio is co-sponsoring the bill.

Senator Rick Scott expressed his outrage, stating, “It should infuriate every American that the Biden-Harris administration granted operatives representing the illegitimate communist Cuban regime a VIP tour of U.S. security areas at Miami International Airport, all at the expense of the American taxpayer. My SAFE U.S. Facilities Act will block federal funding for these events with adversarial nations, effectively stopping what happened at Miami International Airport from ever happening again. I appreciate the support of Senator Rubio and urge our fellow colleagues to work with us to protect U.S. national security, and the safety of all Americans, by passing this bill immediately.”

Senator Marco Rubio added, “Under no circumstances should U.S. federal agencies grant security access to those who wish to do us harm. It’s unacceptable that the Biden-Harris Administration has allowed our adversaries to tour sensitive areas, including members of the Cuban regime at Miami International Airport. The United States must protect itself from state sponsors of terrorism who take advantage of this naïve administration.”

Following the Cuban delegation’s tour of TSA facilities at Miami International Airport, Senator Scott, along with his colleagues, sent a letter to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and TSA Administrator David Pekoske, addressing the national security threat posed by this incident.
