Senator Rick Scott joined Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson at a roundtable to hear from whistleblowers about significant government fraud, waste, and abuse at the southern border.

The senators called for accountability and transparency from the Biden-Harris administration amid the ongoing crisis in the United States.

Senator Rick Scott voiced strong criticism of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the border situation, calling it a “complete failure.”

He attributed the border crisis to the policies of Vice President Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, claiming these policies have allowed criminals, drugs, and terrorists to enter the country.

“The Biden-Harris administration has caused the border to collapse on their watch,” Scott stated. “America is a more dangerous place because Border Czar Kamala Harris, President Biden, and DHS Secretary Mayorkas have allowed criminals, drugs, terrorists, and other dangerous people into our communities.”

Scott emphasized the real-life consequences of the administration’s border policies, citing victims like Laken Riley and Rachel Morin as examples of American lives affected by the crisis. He also criticized the administration for allegedly persecuting whistleblowers who have come forward to expose these issues.

“Real Americans are being killed. Real American families are being torn apart by vicious crimes and deadly drugs because of Border Czar Harris’ failures,” Scott said. “Instead of protecting these whistleblowers for speaking up and telling the truth to Congress, this administration continues to persecute and go after them. That is unacceptable.”

Scott expressed gratitude to Senators Grassley and Johnson for hosting the roundtable and bringing attention to these pressing issues, urging for reforms to secure the border and prioritize the safety of American families.

“It’s time for real reforms that secure our border and prioritize the safety of families who are all feeling the impacts of the open border crisis that this administration has created. It’s time to get Washington to work,” Scott concluded.

Earlier this year, Senators Rick Scott, Tom Cotton, and Marco Rubio introduced the Stop Human Trafficking of Unaccompanied Migrant Children Act.

This bill aims to address reports of unaccompanied migrant children being released to sponsors without proper screening by the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
