In a concerning development, a delegation from Cuba’s illegitimate and criminal regime recently toured the secure areas of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Miami International Airport.
This alarming incident has sparked outrage among lawmakers, who are determined to prevent such breaches of airport security in the future.
Leading the charge are U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, U.S. Representative Carlos Giménez, and a bipartisan group of colleagues, who have introduced the Secure Airports From Enemies (SAFE) Act to address this critical national security concern.
The Biden administration’s decision to grant agents of the Castro regime access to sensitive TSA facilities has been widely condemned as a reckless and dangerous move that undermines America’s aviation security.
Senator Rubio has described this as “absurd” and an action that “enables foreign operatives to learn of our aviation security measures aimed at keeping Americans safe.” Similarly, Congressman Giménez has labeled the administration’s decision as “pathetic and dangerous,” warning that it “puts passengers in serious risk.”
“It’s absurd America has hosted officials from nations currently designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism. We must ensure this administration is not enabling foreign operatives to learn of our aviation security measures aimed at keeping Americans safe,” said Senator Rubio.
“President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas granted agents of the Castro regime access to our sensitive TSA facilities at Miami International Airport. This pathetic and dangerous decision undermines our national security and puts passengers in serious risk. I’m proud to introduce the bipartisan SAFE Act in the House of Representatives and work alongside my dear friend, Senator Marco Rubio, championing this effort in the Upper Chamber, to make sure this never happens again,” Congressman Giménez said.

In response to this threat, Senator Rubio, Congressman Giménez, and their colleagues have introduced the SAFE Act, a bipartisan bill designed to restrict State Sponsors of Terrorism, including Cuba, from accessing TSA areas.
The legislation is co-sponsored by Senator Rick Scott, Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Mario Díaz-Balart, Jared Moskowitz, and María Elvira Salazar, underscoring the widespread concern and commitment to addressing this issue.
The SAFE Act aims to ensure that the United States does not enable foreign operatives from designated State Sponsors of Terrorism to gain access to sensitive areas of the nation’s airports. This is a critical step in maintaining the integrity of America’s aviation security infrastructure and protecting the safety of air travelers.
In their statements, both Senator Rubio and Congressman Giménez have emphasized the urgent need for action. Rubio has stated that “we must ensure this administration is not enabling foreign operatives to learn of our aviation security measures aimed at keeping Americans safe.” Giménez has echoed this sentiment, asserting that “this pathetic and dangerous decision undermines our national security and puts passengers in serious risk.”

The SAFE Act is part of a broader effort by lawmakers to confront the threat of state-sponsored terrorism. In March 2023, Senator Rubio introduced a series of bills aimed at standing up to the criminal Cuban regime, demonstrating a sustained commitment to addressing this challenge.
The SAFE Act has garnered bipartisan support, with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle recognizing the importance of this legislation. Senator Scott has described the Biden administration’s actions as “absolutely insane” and called for the “House and Senate to pass this bill ASAP.”
The SAFE Act includes several key provisions designed to enhance airport security and prevent State Sponsors of Terrorism from accessing sensitive areas. These measures include:
- Restricting access to TSA facilities for individuals from designated State Sponsors of Terrorism
- Enhancing security protocols and screening procedures for any individuals or delegations from such countries
- Requiring regular reporting and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of these security measures
