U.S. Senator Ashley Moody (R-FL) delivered a passionate endorsement of Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi during a U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary business meeting, where Bondi’s nomination was advanced to the full Senate for confirmation.
Senator Moody, who succeeded Bondi as Florida’s Attorney General, praised her predecessor’s tenacity, legal expertise, and unwavering commitment to justice, calling her the “greatest United States Attorney General” the country will have.

In her remarks, Senator Moody highlighted Bondi’s extensive legal career, noting her proven track record of standing up to corporate misconduct, tackling the opioid crisis, and prosecuting human traffickers.
“She never compromised her integrity, prosecutorial independence, or fidelity to the rule of law. No matter who you were, how much money was in your bank account, or how big your business was—if you were harming Floridians, she was going to go after you,” Moody stated.
During her tenure as Florida’s Attorney General, Bondi played a leading role in several landmark legal battles, including:
- Recovering over $50 billion for homeowners affected by the housing crisis.
- Securing $20 billion for Gulf Coast states following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
- Leading efforts to shut down “pill mills” that fueled the opioid epidemic, which had turned Florida into the nation’s leading supplier of illegal prescription drugs.
- Championing the fight against human trafficking, securing convictions against traffickers at record rates.
- Overseeing the elimination of Florida’s backlog of untested rape kits, which resulted in the prosecution of previously unsolved sexual assault cases.
Moody also rejected criticisms that corporate or political interests might influence Bondi. She asserted that Bondi has consistently demonstrated independence, strength, and fairness, making decisions based on justice rather than political expediency.

“She has never been persuaded by those who might hold power. She is driven by her insatiable desire to protect people and preserve justice. She loves this country. She reveres our judicial system. She safeguards it,” Moody said.
Moody stressed that one of Bondi’s greatest challenges will be restoring public trust in the Department of Justice, which has faced accusations of political weaponization in recent years.
“Our judicial system has hit a record low in trust among the American people. We should all be fighting every day to change course. Just as she has done for countless victims, she will claw back this nation’s trust in our judicial system and the Department of Justice,” Moody declared.
The Florida senator warned that America’s justice system has been exploited for political warfare, and Bondi would be instrumental in returning it to a neutral and effective institution.

With the Judiciary Committee advancing Bondi’s nomination, the full U.S. Senate will soon vote on her confirmation. If confirmed, Bondi will succeed former Attorney General Merrick Garland, becoming the second woman to hold the nation’s top law enforcement position.
Senator Moody closed her endorsement with a personal reflection on Bondi’s mentorship and leadership, recalling the note Bondi left for her upon taking office as Florida Attorney General: “Ashley, you will be the greatest Attorney General.”
Moody concluded, “Right back at Pam Bondi. Pam Bondi will make the greatest United States Attorney General.”
