As of Tuesday morning, the polls have opened, and approximately 15 percent of eligible voters have already cast their ballots.

This turnout is expected mainly due to local races, as there are no major statewide races pushing the ballot, except for a U.S. Senate race where incumbent Republican Rick Scott is seeking re-election.
Early votes include nearly 1.33 million mail ballots and over 656,000 at early-voting sites.
Polling stations will close at 7 p.m. local time, with the state beginning to release results at 8 p.m. Eastern time to accommodate areas in the Panhandle operating on Central time.
