As of Wednesday morning, more than 2.25 million Floridians have already cast their ballots in the upcoming Nov. 5 elections, with Republicans holding an early lead over Democrats, according to data from the state Division of Elections.
The data shows that 1,488,353 ballots have been submitted by mail, while 762,805 were cast at early voting locations.
Of the total ballots cast, 954,657 have come from Republican voters, compared to 845,413 from Democrats. Unaffiliated voters have submitted 405,256 ballots, and third-party voters have cast 45,832 ballots.
While Democrats have led in mail-in voting, Republicans have taken a strong lead in early voting, which began on Monday in most parts of the state. Early voting will be available in all Florida counties starting Saturday.
