Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida argues that the time has come for House Republicans to impeach President Joe Biden.

In an opinion article posted by Newsweek on Sunday, the Fort Walton Beach Republican pushed back on the arguments, made by liberals in the media and the Democratic Party, that there is no evidence to remove Biden.

Gaetz noted that CNN on-air personalities repeatedly told viewers that “no evidence” of Biden’s criminality exists, which only echoed the talking points the White House recently relayed to news outlets.

“Oh really? There’s no evidence?” Gaetz wrote. “That might be the case if you are deaf, dumb, and blind.”

The congressman pointed out that the Ukrainian energy company Burisma was paying Hunter Biden $1 million a year in 2015 when Joe had dinner with Hunter and Vadym Pozharsky, a Burisma big shot who was being investigated for corruption by Ukrainian prosecutor.

Shortly after another meeting between Hunter, Burisma owner Mykola Zlochesvky and Pozharsky, the Ukrainians asked Hunter if the “Obama-Biden administration could interfere in the investigation against Burisma.”

Following another meeting, Hunter “called [Washington] D.C.,” and subsequently, “then-Vice President Biden traveled to Kyiv and ‘threatened to withhold $1 billion in United States loan guarantees if Ukraine’s leaders did not dismiss the country’s top prosecutor,” who was Shokin.

The European Commission, in a report released days after Biden’s 2015 trip to Ukraine, reported that Shokin had largely met the commission’s goals battling corruption, organized crime and human trafficking.

“Too bad for Shokin,” Gaetz wrote. “He was on the wrong side of the Biden family business.”

Shokin got canned, and the Burisma inquiry went away. “While Joe Biden was vice president, government policy put the Biden family business first, not America first,” Gaetz argued.

Additionally, an FBI informant reported that Zlochevsky shared in 2016 that he was “coerced into paying the Bidens” — $5 million to Hunter and $5 million to Joe — to ensure Shokin was terminated.

“We have the evidence. It’s time to take action,” said Gaetz.

“Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, a founding father, said that impeachment was for those who ‘betray their public trust.’ That is what

Joe Biden did. U.S. foreign aid under Biden was conditioned on what would personally benefit his family, not our nation’s interests.”

“Not following through on an impeachment of Joe Biden would be a dereliction of duty. Congress must hold Joe Biden to account.”
