U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-Fla.) today announced a new interview in the Veterans History Project Series – a way to feature the accomplishments and military careers of Florida’s 17th District veterans.
This interview features United States Navy veteran Don Wilson.
“Florida’s 17th district is grateful to have another American hero share their story of military service. Mr. Wilson’s testimony is a valuable example of patriotism for younger generations to follow,” said Congressman Steube.

“That’s what the military does, it allows you to have that camaraderie, it allows you to mature as a person, as a man, and as a leader gives you tremendous leadership opportunities,” stated United States Navy Veteran Don Wilson. “You know, it is because of what I did in the Navy that made me the man I am today.”
US Navy Veteran Don Wilson recounted the importance of sacrifice, “These guys and gals that go in and serve their country they’re basically signing a blank, up to and including their lives. That’s kind of a big deal.” Wilson emphasized further, “People that sign on the dotted line and sign that contract to be a Sailor, Marine, Air Force Airman, or Coast Guard, they’re signing on the dotted line that they’ll give their life and that’s really powerful.”
