Florida Republican Rep. Byron Donalds on Friday called on everyday Democratic voters to stop supporting the “radicals” within their own party, as they represent the true threat to America’s election system.

In an interview with Fox News, the Naples Republican was reacting to reports of recent voter fraud attempts in New York and Connecticut.

In New York, a city resident faces up to seven years in prison for obtaining and using mail-in ballots in the names of 118 different people. In Connecticut, a woman was charged with ballot-stuffing at election drop boxes.

Donalds noted these demonstrated the predictable results of Democrats’ efforts to undermine election integrity.

“It confirms what we already know. It’s what Democrats do before every election. … They sue constantly to get weakening of election laws, or just complete removal of election procedures,” said Donalds.

He cited drop boxes installed around the country because of COVID-19 as one example of such efforts.

“They do this every single time because they want to weaken the infrastructure of voting. They want to weaken the controls around voting. They want to make it easy for these outside groups to drop ballots all over the place and to subvert the will of the voters who actually take their time to do their work,” Donalds continued.

“These outside groups need to go, these ballot-harvesting operations need to go. But this is part and parcel of what the Democrats do. These stories now demonstrate what we already have known.”

He added that people remain unaware of how widespread the cheating is because the “fake news” media won’t cover it. “They only want to talk about Jan. 6,” he said.

But that was only part of the problem, Donalds said, as he was asked about recent rulings by Democrats in Colorado and Maine to toss former President Donald Trump off the ballot.

“It’s very anti-democratic. Anybody that says otherwise is a fool and lying to the American people,” Donalds said.

The congressman closed the interview with a message he said was directed at “rank and file Democratic voters.”

“You work hard, you live life, you’re not really political. You have people in your party who are radicals, who are anti-democratic,” said Donalds.

“They don’t believe in the will of the people. They don’t believe in votes in the ballot box, legitimate ones. They don’t even believe in the rule of law and actually following the rule of law. They only care about their agenda.”

“You gotta stop voting for these people,” he said. “Because they are the ones destroying America’s republic. They are the ones who are the threat to our democracy.”
