As readers of the Tampa Free Pres may recall, last week. Rep. Matt Gaetz (FL-01) hosted a press conference along with 25 members of Congress following the introduction of a Sense of Congress resolution stating that President Donald Trump did not engage in insurrection.

The resolution is co-sponsored by 65 House members. A companion resolution was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator JD Vance (R-OH).

On Monday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13) posted a video on X, backing Gaetz’s resolution and slamming ‘big tech’ for colluding with the US government.

“We know for a fact that the US government colluded with big tech to suppress statements by President Trump on January 6. I back @RepMattGaetz’s resolution declaring President Trump did not engage in insurrection,” said Luna.

Early last week, Gaetz emailed a draft resolution that declares the position of the House of Representatives is that Trump “did not engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or give aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”

“You are receiving this email because your boss endorsed President Trump, and we would love to have your support as an original cosponsor before we send the resolution and the list of sponsors to the former President,” the email from Gaetz’s team read.

It was sent to other Republican lawmakers.

“This resolution is a no-brainer,” it added, “controversial only to the most extreme of the far-left – and a statement of fact that every single Republican can be expected to support.”

“If the left has the courage to interfere in our elections and weaponize the judicial system against our brethren,” the email continued, “we must have the courage to express what is self-evident.”
