Florida is closely monitoring a developing storm system in the Atlantic Ocean that has the potential to intensify later this week, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
The NHC has urged residents in the Greater Antilles, the Bahamas, and the southeastern United States to monitor the storm’s progress closely, as it could strengthen into a tropical depression by late this week.
Current forecasts show a potential path encompassing most of Florida, excluding the Panhandle. The storm system could form into a tropical depression near the Greater Antilles or the Bahamas by the end of the week.
