The federal government is allocating over $5.7 million to Florida to bolster electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure as part of the Biden administration’s latest round of funding.
Announced on Tuesday, Miami-Dade County will receive $4.8 million, while the Seminole Tribe of Florida is set to receive $933,600.

This funding is part of a larger $521 million grant program distributed across 29 states, the District of Columbia, and eight tribes.
Miami-Dade County plans to use its share of the funds to install 390 charging ports at 73 community locations, including libraries, parks, transit hubs, and college campuses.
The Seminole Tribe’s grant will be used to set up EV charging infrastructure at seven designated locations.
