HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in locating a missing and endangered adult, 34-year-old Thomas Scott Cunningham, who has been deemed a credible threat to himself.
Authorities have issued a Purple Alert, which is used to locate adults who may be in danger and require law enforcement intervention.
According to officials, Cunningham made irrational statements and expressed intentions of self-harm before disappearing.

He is also wanted on an active Hernando County warrant for making written threats to kill. His exact whereabouts remain unknown, and law enforcement considers him potentially dangerous.
Cunningham was last seen driving a 2021 gray Nissan Rogue with Florida tag 03DMNR in the Pinellas County area.
Authorities are urging the public not to approach Cunningham if seen. Instead, anyone with information on his location should immediately contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at (352) 754-6830 or call their local law enforcement agency.
