As recovery efforts from Hurricane Debby continue, the number of Florida residents without power has significantly decreased.

Approximately 33,000 customers were still without electricity as of Wednesday just before noon, down from 100,000 the previous day.

Jefferson County was hit the hardest, with over half of its customers still lacking power, followed by Suwannee, Columbia, and Dixie counties.

Despite Debby being downgraded to a tropical storm, state officials warn that its lingering rain could cause flooding in northern and central Florida.
