A mom and dad in Florida were arrested after their 6-month-old son was found to have multiple broken bones from months of abuse.
According to investigators, on April 28, Andrea Southard and Donald Holland were taken into custody by Baker County Sheriff’s Office Detectives after an investigation revealed the two had been abusing and neglecting their 6-month-old son.
The baby was taken to Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Baker County, Florida, earlier in the week for what detectives originally believed was a fractured arm.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned the child had suffered six broken bones in his upper and lower extremities.

Some of the injuries were believed to have occurred weeks or months prior and had gone untreated.
Interviews with witnesses allowed detectives to learn the couple verbally abused the infant when he would cry and physically handled their son inappropriately.
“As a result of the investigation into these despicable acts, Southard and Holland are charged with aggravated child abuse (two counts) and child neglect,” said Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
