Florida’s minimum wage workers will see a pay bump starting Monday, September 30, 2024, as the state’s minimum wage increases to $13 an hour. This is another step in the phased implementation of a constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2020, which will ultimately raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2026.
The amendment, championed by Orlando attorney John Morgan, has gradually increased the minimum wage each year since 2021. After reaching $15 in 2026, future increases will be tied to inflation.

The minimum wage for tipped employees will also see a $1 increase, reaching $9.98 an hour. This is still significantly higher than the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.
