A Florida man was arrested last week after being caught driving a stolen ATV and then attempting to evade law enforcement by ingesting fentanyl, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
K-9 Deputy Donely stopped Dustin Heaberlin in the 12300 block of NW 11th Terrace after observing him operating an ATV. During the traffic stop, deputies discovered that Heaberlin’s driver’s license was under multiple suspensions. Further investigation revealed that the ATV Heaberlin was driving had been stolen from Brevard County.

The situation escalated when Heaberlin informed Deputy Latham at the scene that he had ingested “fentanyl” in an attempt to prevent deputies from locating it.
Following medical clearance, Dustin Heaberlin was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
