A Florida man is celebrating after claiming a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game.
Dale Rosato, 51, of Jacksonville Beach, opted for a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000, according to the Florida Lottery’s Jacksonville District Office.
Rosato purchased the winning ticket at Gate, a convenience store located at 4121 San Pablo Parkway in Jacksonville. For selling the winning ticket, the retailer earned a $2,000 bonus commission from the Florida Lottery.

The $50 500X THE CASH Scratch-Off game boasts the largest top prize ever offered by a Florida Scratch-Off game—$25 million—and offers some of the best odds for players to win big, with overall odds of 1-in-4.23. The game features more than $1.66 billion in cash prizes, making it a favorite among players aiming to become instant millionaires.
Scratch-Off games play a significant role in the Florida Lottery’s success, accounting for approximately 74% of ticket sales during the fiscal year 2023-2024.
Since their inception, these games have awarded over $64.3 billion in prizes, created 2,230 millionaires, and contributed more than $19.5 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF), supporting education initiatives across Florida.
