A Florida man has claimed $1,000,000 from a $5 scratch-off lottery ticket he purchased at Publix.
The Florida Lottery announced that Terry Huffine, of Bradenton, claimed a $1 million top prize from the 50X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at the Lottery’s Fort Myers District Office.
He received his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.00.
Huffine purchased his winning ticket from Publix, located at 6030 14th Street West in Bradenton. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $5 game, 50X THE CASH, launched in January and features more than $215 million in cash prizes, including 12 top prizes of $1,000,000! The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.90.
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 77 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2021-2022.
