Florida Man Washes Ashore In A Giant Hamster Wheel

A Florida man washed ashore in a giant hamster wheel Saturday morning and flipped some people out.

According to investigators, early Saturday morning deputies responded to a call about a vessel washing ashore in the Hammock area of Palm Coast.

“Thank you to the concerned citizens who reported this. We are happy to announce that the occupant of the vessel is safe with no injuries,” said Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said in a social post.

The occupant of the crafty craft? Reza Baluchi, from “Run With Reza”.

According to his website, runwithreza.org, Baluchi has a dream to run thru all 194 recognized countries in the world to inspire us and unite us as a people. His dream is to share the lives of people around the world with complete transparency.

In 2016 a Baluchi attempted to run from Boca Raton, FL to Bermuda in a homemade, inflatable plastic bubble.

Baluchi had been warned by the Coast Guard that any efforts to attempt his journey would be futile and result in severe legal and financial retribution.

The man’s attempt to “run” from Florida to Bermuda in the inflatable bubble was cut short when the Coast Guard towed him back to land – for the second time.

In 2014, the Coast Guard rescued him after receiving a report about a disoriented man in a bubble off the coast of Miami, who was asking for directions to Bermuda, according to a report from CNN.

Baluchi initially refused to quit his journey, but asked for help three days later.

An HC-130 airplane and MH-60 helicopter, along with the vessel Maersk Montana, were sent to rescue him about 70 nautical miles east of St. Augustine.

His 2014 rescue cost $144,000, according to CNN affiliate, WPLG.
