Edward Camacho, 20, of Winter Garden, has been sentenced to four years and three months in federal prison for stealing firearms from a licensed dealer. Senior U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. handed down the sentence following Camacho’s guilty plea on September 17, 2024.
According to court documents, Camacho used a vehicle to smash into the front of a federal firearms licensee business around midnight on August 18, 2023. After breaking the front door and wall, Camacho entered the business, broke a glass case containing multiple firearms, and stole six firearms.

Law enforcement apprehended Camacho less than two hours later after a foot pursuit. During the chase, Camacho discarded three firearms, two of which were confirmed stolen from the business.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Winter Park Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie Alexa McNeff prosecuted the case.
The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement and communities.
