A routine stop for a Scratch-Off ticket resulted in a massive payout for a West Palm Beach resident. The Florida Lottery announced Thursday that Joan Gonzalez Tamarit, 26, claimed a $2 million top prize from the SILVER STREAK Scratch-Off game.

Gonzalez Tamarit collected his winnings at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee, opting to receive the prize as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,195,000.00.

The life-changing ticket was purchased for just $10 at the Publix located at 828 Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach. This lucky sale also earned the Publix location a $4,000 bonus commission from the Florida Lottery.

The SILVER STREAK game, a $10 Scratch-Off launched in September 2024, offered players a chance at significant winnings, including four top prizes of $2 million. The game also featured 354 prizes of $10,000 and boasted over $104 million in total cash prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize in the SILVER STREAK game are 1-in-3.44.

Scratch-off games remain a cornerstone of the Florida Lottery’s portfolio. In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, they constituted approximately 74 percent of total ticket sales.
