A Florida man is charged with entering a semi-truck where a woman was sleeping on Okaloosa Island and sexually assaulting her.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged 23-year-old Taylor Copeland of Niceville with sexual battery and burglary with battery.
According to deputies, the victim and a man were asleep in a semi-truck on Okaloosa Island early in the morning hours on May 21st.

The victim told investigators that she woke to find Copeland sexually battering her.
Deputies say the man inside the truck also woke up and began hitting Copeland in an attempt to defend the victim.
Copeland is currently being held on $200,000 bond in the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.
