A Florida man is not cruising the open seas after stealing a beautiful boat with four Mercury 350s on it.
According to investigators, 35-year-old Luis Eloy Betancourt-Molina of Miami is standing in handcuffs not far from the backside of the “Right Side”, a boat he stole from a Martin County business, according to deputies.
“Now at some point Betancourt-Molina had to decide if he was good enough to use the nightside as his cover and blindside the boat’s owner by traveling into Martin County from the southside, where he hooked up the 40-foot Catamaran to his SUV and took off,” said MCSO.
“But as you know, there is a downside to people from the outside who come to steal things from our beautiful beachside community, also known as Martin County. You know what that is. Betancourt-Molina obviously didn’t have the inside on this. Now he does,” added MCSO.

“Aside from outstanding cooperation with the Miami-Dade Police and specialized task force, Betancourt also failed to realize that the boat’s owner, like many now, brilliantly outfitted the vessel with special equipment, which allowed us to track the suspect before he got the vessel dockside,” said MCSO.
Luis Betancourt-Molina is charged with grand theft of over $100,000.
