A 33-year-old Florida man was fatally shot by police on Sunday night after allegedly killing and dismembering his roommate.

Police in Fort Myers responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. about a woman and two children hiding in a carport, who reported Willy Lumaine’s violent actions.

Upon arrival, the woman told officers that her husband, 33-year-old Willy Lumaine, was “actively killing” their roommate.

Officers approached the residence and found an open door with a visible blood trail. They secured the area and began issuing verbal commands to locate Lumaine and any potential victims.

Lumaine emerged from a rear window, armed with a large knife and carrying what appeared to be a partial human torso.

Ignoring officers’ commands to drop the knife, he advanced towards them, prompting officers to discharge their weapons, resulting in his death.

Subsequent investigation revealed a grisly scene inside the residence, with the roommate’s mutilated remains found both inside and outside the home. No other victims were located.
