After reportedly telling a couple at a Taco Bell that they were in Florida and threatening to murder them, a boat captain in that state is being charged with two felonies.

Local news outlet WPLG reported that on October 7, 52-year-old Jonathan Michael Mashburn was allegedly trying to back his SUV into a parking space in the fast food lot, according to the Key West Police Department.

Mashburn was trying to park in the space next to a man and woman who were seated in their truck and doing internet food orders, according to the police.

According to reports, the woman in the truck lowered down her window to warn Mashburn that their car was going to be hit. Mashburn is said to have yelled, “What’s your f—ing problem? You’ve got your high beams on” after parking his SUV, according to the police report.

The couple in the truck then flashed the high beams on and off to show Mashburn the intense lights were not on, which caused Mashburn to respond by pulling out a gun.

“You know where you’re at?” police said Mashburn asked the couple after allegedly pulling out a black semi-automatic pistol. “I’ll f—ing kill you! You’re in Florida!”

The individual in the truck then took out his phone to record Mashburn, who, according to police, fled the scene.

Mashburn allegedly told police that the two in the truck had pulled a pistol on him first when they questioned him about the event later, but he “recanted” his claim, according to the police report.

Mashburn was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and jailed on a $100,000 bond, according to court records.
